WBS Penguins Lose 2-0, Trail Series 2-0

These guys really need to find a way to step-up their game in Norfolk if they want to continue playing hockey past Wednesday.

Another disappointing performance from the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins tonight gives the Norfolk Admirals a 2-0 win tonight and a two games to none lead in the best of seven series, which now shifts to Norfolk for three straight games down at The Scope.

Much like last night's first period, the two teams played a scoreless 20 minutes. I thought the middle frame would be another scoreless period until Paul Szczechura beat Brad Thiessen with under 10 seconds to play. The third period brought more frustration to both the players and the fans of the home team and Marc Antoine Pouliot's empty net goal sealed the deal.

The Pens have really dug themselves in a hole now, trailing 2-0 in the series and headed to Norfolk for three straight road games. They will need to win two of the three games to bring the series back home. By no means is this series over. It won't be easy but the Penguins are definitely not out of it yet.  Tuesday's Game 3 is basically a must win game. Fans and players need to realize that it is a best of seven series and must take things one game at a time.

The Pens get two days off to think about what they are going to do in Game 3. Hopefully the few extra days will be enough to get Tim Wallace back into the lineup. Wallace hasn't played in either game this weekend. All I can say is keep the faith and don't give up on this team. They didn't win 58 games this year by accident.
