The Penguins nine game win streak against the Bears at the Giant Center comes to an end, as the Bears come from behind and steal the win in the shootout this afternoon, 4-3. Penguins get a point and remain four points ahead of the Bears in the East Division.

Scott Munroe vs. Braden Holtby in net. Carl Sneep, who left Friday's game and didn't return, sat out his second straight game after just returning to the lineup from a lengthy absence. Ryan Schnell was a healthy scratch. Same WBS lineup as last night.

Penguins jumped out to a 1-0 lead 3:43 into the contest. With Steve MacIntyre off for high sticking, Brandon DeFazio stole a puck while on the penalty kill and came in on a breakaway and beat Holtby. DeFazio's 7th of the season was unassisted.
The Bears responded quickly and took the lead with two quick goals. Chris Collins tied it at one on a screened point shot, then Chris Bourque got open and buried one past Munroe to give the Bears a 2-1 lead t the 6:09 mark.
Bryan Lerg tipped a Cody Wild point shot to tie it at two about six minutes later for his team leading 21st of the season. Jason Williams got the secondary assist on the tying goal.
The second period was a penalty fest. Geoff Walker's 13th of the season came with one second remaining on a 5-on-3 power play and gave the Penguins a 3-2 lead halfway through the contest. Bryan Lerg and Ryan Craig assisted on the power play goal.
The Bears trailed by one after 40 minutes of play and came out and played a spirited third period. Newly acquired Mike Carman scored his first goal with his new team and it was a big one, a game tying goal 7:20 into the final period.
The two teams battled from end to end and forced the overtime session. The Penguins nearly won it in the extra session but a great play by Tomas Kundratek to get behind Holtby and block an Alex Grant shot prevented the Penguins from getting the two points.
The game would go to a shootout and Geoff Walker and Cody Eakin would trade goals in the third round. Ben Street couldn't answer Ryan Potulny's goal in the fourth round, surrendering the extra point to the intrastate rival Bears.
