ALLENTOWN - Are you coming to the PPL Center for Saturday night's Lehigh Valley Phantoms game? Would you like an autographed puck from one of your favorite Phantoms players? How about an autographed stick?
On Saturday night the Lehigh Valley Phantoms' Wives Organization, in conjunction with the Lehigh Valley Health Network, will begin a fundraiser for the Building Hope For Kids Project - a project later this season where the Phantoms' wives/girlfriends will renovate a chronically ill child's home in the Lehigh Valley.
Last season - with the help of a bunch of hockey-loving volunteers - the organization completely remodeled the home of the Perez family in Palmer Township.
This year, fans attending Saturday night's game against the Providence Bruins can take home an autographed puck, and potentially an autographed stick, all while helping out a great cause.
"It really is a great cause," Stephanie Rannells, wife of Phantoms' equipment manager Andy, said when asked about this year's fundraiser.
Pucks will be available for $15 (2 for $25) and while you won't know which player's puck you will be selecting, you should pay special attention to the signature on the puck. One out of every ten pucks will be signed in gold and if you're lucky enough to get one of those pucks you will also be taking home a player autographed stick.
"Andy knocked it out of the park with the prizes, Stephanie said. "A 1 in 10 chance is so good."
All in all, there will be 1,000 pucks on the concourse Saturday night which gives all fans in attendance a chance to help donate to a great cause.
