No, this is not an April Fool's day joke. According to the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers team website, recent signee Brandon DeFazio has been called up to the WBS Penguins. If you scroll down the Nailers' roster to the bottom section of guys not currently on team because of recall you will see DeFazio's name.
This could mean that Brett Sterling isn't going to play tonight. This could be a sign that the Pens might rest some forwards down the stretch and we might see guys like DeFazio, Paul Thompson, or even defensemen like Joe Rogalski and Victor Ekbom get in some games next weekend when the regular season concludes. It looks like we will have to wait and see tonight. If anything comes out this afternoon I will update the blog's Twitter feed @H_P_Hockey so be sure to follow along to get the inside scoop on that.
