10/8 HER @ WBS Game Thread

Penguins open their season tonight at 7:05 p.m. EST against the Hershey Bears.

Looks like it will be Brad Thiessen in net tonight.  The Penguins begin their 13th season against their biggest rival, the Hershey Bears.  Here's what defenseman Simon Despres tweeted earlier this afternoon to add fuel to the fire:

Game time! Vs hershey bears #5milliondollarpayroll

That comment about the payroll is referring to the many guys Hershey went out and got in the offseason. Guys like Danny Richmond, Ryan Potulny and Chris Bourque are being paid top dollar to play in the AHL. The Bears might have the highest salary total in the league.
