Penguins Fall 1-0 in Shootout

Monday, October 10, 2011
Scott Munroe played a near perfect game in his WBS Penguins debut.
Last night's Penguins game was a clear goaltenders duel between Scott Munroe and Chad Johnson.  Munroe stopped all 23 shots he faced in regulation and overtime, while Johnson stopped all 41 shots that came his way.

In the shootout, Munroe was only able to stop 1 of 4 attempts and the Penguins lost 1-0 to the Connecticut Whale.  They picked up a point and their record now stands at 0-1-0-1.

The Penguins seemed to control the play in the second period, outshooting the Whale by an 18-4 margin. Unfortunately they were unable to get one on the board. The power play was also a problem as it went 0 for 7.

The Penguins have an off day today before resuming practice tomorrow. The Penguins will then get ready for their first road trip of the season, traveling to Rochester to take on the Americans on Thursday.
