Is Tangradi on his way back to the AHL?
The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced that Sidney Crosby will play Thursday night against the New York Rangers. This on the team's Twitter feed:
BREAKING NEWS: Sidney Crosby will play Thursday against the New York Rangers. #Pens
Per Pens coach Dan Bylsma, Crosby will start the game on the third line, centering Tyler Kennedy and Matt Cooke. Ray Shero was reported as saying the same, that Crosby would be eased back in on the third line.

This is great news for the entire organization, as I would imagine that Eric Tangradi will join Brian Strait and Simon Despres as recent re-assignments to the AHL to make room.

Crosby has only appeared in 8 games this season recording two goals and 10 assists. His last game in the lineup came back on December 5th against the Boston Bruins.  Today's news makes it a great day to be a Penguins fan and I'm sure the excitement of seeing Sid back on the ice in game action is unbearable to most.
