The Penguins came into Bridgeport this afternoon and took care of business, beating the Sound Tigers 5-3 and are now 4-1 in their last five games. Dylan Reese scored against his former team in the first period. Paul Thompson tallied a natural hat trick in the second. Brian Gibbons put the icing on the cake with a third period goal. Jeff Zatkoff stopped 37 shots for the win.

Dylan Reese returned to Bridgeport for the first time since playing with the Sound Tigers last season and gave his new team a 1-0 lead 4:58 into the game on a nice set up from Phillipe Dupuis. Brian Dumoulin continues to rack up the assists on the power play as he got the secondary assist.

The Sound Tigers tied it up midway through the first period before Paul Thompson broke open the game in the middle frame with a natural hat trick.

Thompson's first goal was due in large part to his hustle. Brian Gibbons chipped a puck up ice and into the offensive zone where Thompson skated in and fired a shot to the top corner of Poulin's net. Brian Dumoulin set up Thompson for his second goal, while Robert Bortuzzo assisted on Thompson's third goal of the period.

The Sound Tigers scored early in the third period to make it 4-2 but Brian Gibbons quickly made it a 5-2 game, using his speed and finishing off the play with a backhand goal.
