TUESDAY UPDATE: Penguins Practice Before Hitting The Road To Providence

Tuesday, May 13, 2014
Andrew Ebbett hasn't resumed skating since the end of the first round. His status for tomorrow's Game Three is questionable.
The most pressing question from today's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins practice at the Toyota SportsPlex is when does Penguins prospect Derrick Pouliot join the AHL Penguins and when is he inserted into the WBS lineup.

For those who didn't already know, Pouliot's Portland Winterhawks fell short in the WHL finals against the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-2 in the winner-take-all Game Seven last night. It was reported yesterday that the plan was for Pouliot to join the WBS Penguins upon the completion of his WHL season.

Providence Bruins beat writer from the Providence Journal, Mark Divver, has reported this afternoon that forward Bobby Robins, who left the penalty box to re-join a scrum in the third period of Saturday night's Game Two, has been suspended by the AHL for three games. Color me shocked that supplemental discipline was dished out, but Robins' reputation precedes him.

Jared Knight, who left the PBruins bench to join the same scrum, was handed a game misconduct and will not be suspended, per Divver through Providence head coach Bruce Cassidy.

Missing from the Penguins 60-minute practice today was Philip Samuelsson and Andrew Ebbett, who yesterday were both listed as questionable for Game Three tomorrow night. The fact that neither skated today likely doesn't bode well for a return tomorrow for either of them.

The lines and defense pairings at practice today were the same as they were in Game Two. Barring a return from either Samuelsson or Ebbett, I'd expect the same lineup from Game Two tomorrow night at the Dunkin Donuts Center.

Here's the lines from practice today:

Zlobin - Drazenovic - Machacek
Sheary - Megna - Kobasew
Zolnierczyk - Payerl - Kostopoulos
Uher - Sill - Farnham
Carman - Rowney - Lebond

McNeill - Despres
Harrington - Mikkelson
Dumoulin - Goers
D'Agostino - Ruopp

Mannino - Murray
