The biggest changes include seeing the Phantoms 12 times in 2014-15 much like the Pens have been playing Hershey the past several seasons, six at home and six on the road. The tri-state rivalry can really begin to re-develop this season. Gone from the East Division are the Syracuse Crunch, but the Penguins still visit the War Memorial twice this season.
Although the Penguins play more games in the East Division than last season (up to 40 from 38 last season), they also play the rest of the Eastern Conference more, up eight games from 2013-14. The reason this is possible? The Penguins do not play any teams from the Western Conference this year.
