Saturday's Morning Skate 2/21

Saturday, February 21, 2015
Anthony Stolarz has just two wins in his last 11 appearances.
Points are at a premium with less than nine weeks left in the AHL's 2014-15 regular season. The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins enjoyed a Friday night off, but the rest of the East Division was in action.

Last night I was in Allentown at the PPL Center as the Lehigh Valley Phantoms dropped their sixth straight game at home, a 5-1 decision to the Providence Bruins - a team they are chasing in the Eastern Conference's playoff race.

Tonight, I'm back inside PPL Center as the Phantoms hope for a better result against the Hartford Wolfpack at 7:05 p.m. EST. I'll have full coverage with in-game updates via Twitter at @TonyAndrock_TCG and a post-game recap here online shortly following the game.

For in-game updates of tonight's Penguins home game against the PBruins, make sure you are following @H_P_Hockey.

Providence - 5 at Lehigh Valley - 1

In Allentown, the Phantoms dropped their sixth straight home game in a 5-1 loss to the PBruins - allowing four goals in a second period to forget. Petr Straka scored the lone Phantoms goal while Anthony Stolarz was pulled with 2:57 left in the 2nd frame after allowing his 4th goal on 27 shots.

Ryan Spooner and Colin Stuart scored two goals each for the PBruins in the win.

Providence travels to Wilkes-Barre for a face-off against the Penguins, while the Phantoms host a much-improved Hartford team tonight at 7:05 p.m. EST.

Hershey - 3 at Binghamton - 5

On DIFD night in Binghamton, the BSens upset a red hot Hershey Bears team on a tear in 2015.

The Bears jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 4:38 into the first period on goals by Casey Wellman and Tomas Kundratek but were overtaken by the BSens in the second period. The BSens got goals from five different forwards in a 5-3 win comeback win and 26 saves from Scott Greenham.

Binghamton heads up interstate 81 to take on their neighboring rival Syracuse tonight, while Hershey returns home for a Saturday night match up at Giant Center with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Norfolk - 2 at Worcester - 5

In Worcester, the Sharks continue to win without several key players out if the lineup in a 5-2 thrashing of the Adirmals in the first of a two-game set between the teams this weekend.

It was a balanced scoring attack for the Sharks with five different goal scorers and a 32-save performance from Aaron Dell in the win. Andrew O'Brien led Norfolk with a pair of assists.

These two teams rematch at DCU Center in Worcester again tonight at 7:00 p.m. EST.
