Phantoms Back in Action Friday Night Against Bridgeport

Written by: Tony Androckitis, Twitter/Facebook

I'll have full coverage of tonight's Phantoms game against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. ET, but make sure you're following along on Twitter -> @TonyAndrock and Facebook (be sure to like the Facebook page!) for all the latest updates and information this evening. Stay tuned here online after the game for a recap of the action.

The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (1-0-0) host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (1-1-0) tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET in their first game of the week after last Saturday's season-opening win over the Springfield Thunderbirds.

It's Ed Snider tribute night at the PPL Center in downtown Allentown, and the Phantoms will be wearing a special tribute jersey with a play on the 1990s Philadelphia Flyers jersey scheme.

The Phantoms' depth was on full display last week, and the team jumped out to an early lead that they never really looked back on. They'll be looking for another fast start to assert the presence tonight against the Sound Tigers, who split their two games last weekend with a 2-1 win over Providence and a 2-1 loss to Springfield.

The Sound Tigers may be without top offensive defenseman Ryan Pulock, who was called up to the NHL's New York Islanders on Thursday, but they still have highly regarded rookies Josh Ho-Sang, Michael Dal Colle and Devin Toews in their lineup. Bridgeport also features a formidable goaltender's duo of Christopher Gibson and Stephon Williams.

After the jump, a full preview of everything you need to know in advance of tonight's game.

Lehigh Valley Phantoms

Roster Notes

Anthony Stolarz is expected to get the start in net for the Phantoms tonight. Alex Lyon will serve as the backup.

The Phantoms loaned defensemen Max Lamarche back to Reading (ECHL) in advance of tonight's game, leaving the AHL roster with six defensemen who are all expected to play tonight.

Forward Derek Mathers was loaned to the ECHL's Allen Americans earlier this week. The move leaves the Phantoms with 14 healthy forwards.

Cole Bardreau was expected back in the lineup tonight up front for Lehigh Valley after missing the season opener last Saturday, getting an extra week of practice after recovery from an off-season abdominal surgery. Unfortunately for Bardreau, that doesn't appear to be the case.

Corban Knight is expected to remain in the lineup. There might not be any line combo changes from Saturday's season opener last weekend.
