Game 47 St. John's at Lehigh Valley 2/10/17

Editor's Note: Going to try something new to add yet another element to our Lehigh Valley Phantoms game night coverage. The plan is to feature more of our awesome photographers' work associated with game night photos taken at the games.

Make sure you're following Highland Park Hockey's Nina Weiss (@trancemoment) for all the best in-game action photos when the Phantoms play both at home and on the road.

After the jump, some photos from last night's 4-2 win over the St. John's IceCaps at PPL Center Friday night.

Sam Morin might be 6-7, 227 and a physical defensive defenseman, but he's also able to carry the puck up ice and create plays off the rush.

Chris Conner was very noticeable on the ice, and drew a lot of attention from the IceCaps defense to the point where they would literally wrap him up in puck battles because of Conner's elusiveness.

Plenty of good puck battles Friday night. The IceCaps won more in the first period, but the Phantoms were better in the final 40 minutes.

Travis Sanheim tallied his 8th of the season to tie the game at 1-1 in the first period.

IceCaps forward Charles Hudon showed a burst of speed and a great shot on his early 2nd period goal that put the Phantoms down 2-1.

The Phantoms turned the tides after Hudon's goal in the opening minute of the second period. Scott Laughton was creating offense with regularity.

Lots of snow in this one eh?

Chris Conner stole the show, tallying the game-tying goal late in the 2nd period, nearly scoring on a penalty shot in the third before eventually being credited with the game-winning goal with 3:53 left in regulation after Mark Alt's shot from the left circle bounced in off Conner's leg.

The Phantoms were able to complete the comeback, but Friday night's game came at a potential cost. With Taylor Leier and Boyd Gordon out due to injury, and Jordan Weal called up, Scott Laughton's awkward collision in 2nd period that took him out of the game for the 3rd period could prove significant if he misses any amount of games.
