WBS Penguins John Hynes Named Coach of the Year

Not much of a surprise here, Hynes has earned this award.
The AHL has announced today that WBS Penguins head coach John Hynes has been awarded the Louis A.R. Pieri award for the league's outstanding coach. In just his first year as a head coach, Hynes has led the Penguins to the best record in the league, as well as the best record in franchise history.  Couldn't have happened to a greater guy. The players bought into him from day one and clearly it has shown.

Hynes has led the Pens to the best record, but not without any bumps along the way. At times up to seven of his top forwards were unavailable due to injury or recall but that didn't stop Hynes from adapting to his new players and getting the most out of them while they were in the AHL.

All in all, a great season for Hynes and the Penguins but I'm sure if you ask them they aren't satisfied with everything accomplished so far. There's still a few things left the Penguins would like to do.
