Munroe Blanks Senators 3-0

Tuesday, November 15, 2011
Munroe played a perfect game tonight.
After not playing in the past ten games, Scott Munroe held his own tonight, shutting out the Binghamton Senators and stopping all 25 shots that came his way.

The Penguins tallied all their goals in the second period, where they fired 19 shots on Mike McKenna. First, it was Nick Petersen scoring his third of the season from Matt Rust and Jason Williams. Petersen had been a scratch while awaiting his newborn child. Good to see him get right back in the lineup and get on the scoresheet.

Paul Thompson netted his third of the year with another primary assist to Rust and Petersen with the secondary late in the period. Only 82 seconds later, Brian Gibbons absolutely smoked a shot past McKenna with 10.4 seconds left in the period to give the Penguins the 3-0 lead.

Other than that it was all Munroe. He played an excellent game. Expect him to start again on Friday when the Penguins start a three game road trip to New England.

If the Penguins practice tomorrow, I'll be there to get an update. If not, the next post will be Friday's pregame report. Since all three games this weekend are on the road, Highland Park Hockey will be your best bet for full coverage of the WBS Penguins all weekend long.

Go Penguins!
