Moving Parts 1/24

Thursday, January 24, 2013
A lot of news, notes and roster movement to talk about after a very busy Thursday morning. Business is picking up. Here's a look at Thursday's practice update:
  • Benn Ferriero and Carl Sneep have been traded. The Penguins get back a draft pick for Sneep and forward Chad Kolarik from the Connecticut Whale (AHL) for Ferriero. Kolarik is expected to make his WBS debut tomorrow in Rochester.
  • Phil Dupuis and Beau Bennett did not skate at practice today. Head coach John Hynes said Dupuis is out this weekend, and that Bennett is day-to-day and will be making the trip.

  • Warren Peters (pictured above) skated in a regular practice jersey and appears ready to return to the lineup after taking that punishing hit from Brooks Orpik in the Penguins scrimmage last Wednesday.

  • Newly signed PTO's Mark Eaton (above) and Tom Kostopoulos (below) skated in practice today. Both have been training and skating on their own before being signed so I don't think it's a question of conditioning. Both are planned to make their season debuts tomorrow in Rochester.

Kostopoulos is back.
  • Speaking of Rochester, I'll be heading to western New York tomorrow for the Penguins game against the Americans. Follow all the latest news on the WBS Penguins on our Twitter feed @H_P_Hockey.
