Tuesday WBS Practice UPDATE

Tuesday, March 5, 2013

A lot of news to cover from this morning's practice. Here's what you need to know:

  • Paul Thompson is back. He practiced in full today and looks ready to return to the lineup this weekend. During line rushes he was paired with Brian Gibbons and Dominik Uher. It would be nice to see Gibbons and Thompson re-united.
  • The Pittsburgh Penguins signed Tom Kostopolous to a one-year, two-way contract that pays him $600,000 at the NHL level. Kostopolous was put on waivers in order to be eligible to play in the AHL. If he goes unclaimed by noon tomorrow, he's a Penguin the rest of the season.
  • Zach Boychuk was claimed off waivers by Nashville and about five seconds after that the Penguins announced Beau Bennett has been recalled back to the NHL. Not surprising considering Bennett was not at WBS practice this morning. Bennett is currently on the ice in Pittsburgh's practice.
  • Steve MacIntyre came out and skated after practice. He told fans he's "about a week or so" from being ready to play.
Here's the lines from practice today:

Kolarik - Smith - Holzapfel
Uher - Gibbons - Thompson/Payerl
Collins - Peters - Kostopolous
Farnham - Sill - Minella/Megna

Dumoulin - Reese
Grant - Mormina
Samuelsson - Morrow/Wild
