Saturday's #WBSPens Weekend Preview

Saturday, October 12, 2013

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins host the Hershey Bears tonight, the Pens' first home game of the 2013-14 season. They will then travel up to Syracuse, New York for a game against Joey Mormina and the Syracuse Crunch.

Here's some quick notes about the roster heading into this weekend's games:

  • Bobby Farnham skated in a regular practice jersey Friday and is ready to return to the lineup. Where he fits into this lineup remains to be seen. There are 15 healthy forwards on the roster right now.
Zolnierczyk - Ebbett - Kuhnhackl
Payerl - Drazenovic - Kostopolous
Megna - Gibbons - Conner
Leblond - Sill - Uher
Farnham - Carman - Thompson

  • Peter Mannino is in town and with the team and will probably back up Jeff Deslauriers in the home opener tonight.
  • On defense, Brian Dumoulin is ready to return to the lineup and the blue line looks pretty solid heading into the weekend:
Despres - Samuelsson
Harrington - Mikkelson
Dumoulin - D'Agostino
If you missed it yesterday, my AHL preview for the Town & Country Gazette (T&CG) was published on their main page.

The T&CG is expanding their AHL coverage, so in addition to providing you with all the latest on the AHL Penguins, I will also be talking to some of the Penguins more prominent opponents this season as well.
